Shannon: Erin, in working with you, I have found you to be a person driven by a mission and vision for serving the most vulnerable - especially as related to healthcare equity with deep empathy for patients around the world. You work harder than anyone that I have ever met in producing high quality analysis and project design around complex health systems and have a work ethic that is rare - you show up, and go above and beyond, taking detailed care in the quality of work you deliver time and time again. What motivates you and where does this approach and way of working come from? What drives you and sets you apart from others when reflecting on your journey?

Erin: First, thank you for the kinds words as I have tried to be very thoughtful and humble in my approach to global health. I think my professional path has been quite non-traditional, and I have been very privileged to see huge wins and learn from epic failures in health systems across the globe. My training as both an anthropologist and family physician has really guided how I approach understanding challenges and working with individuals and communities to find solutions, adopting a human-centered design approach. I also firmly believe in setting a clear learning agenda for everything that I do; the idea of "failing forward" is one I take seriously. When we leave the comfort of what we know, new thinking and innovation in health systems is possible.

Thank you Erin for being a friend, colleague and a light in this world!
